Goodbye, Old Friend

04/14/2012

We have had a pretty brutal storm here this past week.  Although we didn’t experience flooding like the valley did, we still got hit with a lot of rain, hail and winds.  We really need as much water as we can get, so I’m definitely not complaining!

In this last storm, we lost the 100+ years old hay wagon that we had out in our pasture.

This has been sitting in the same spot for over 50 years and has been kind of a rustic “lawn ornament.”  I’ve taken pictures by it my whole life and it’s sad to see it go.  At least we’ll be able to repurpose the wood and iron into some interesting recycled objects.

And here’s a photo of my husband and I in front of it in our wedding attire…
