Exciting News! Curvy Colette: A Plus Size Blog Tour!

04/16/2014

Have you heard?

curvy-colette-300

I’ve been waiting with bated breath for Colette Patterns to release their new knit patterns (and their new book!) which go up into the plus size range.  It’s been difficult to keep this news to myself and to have to wait to share it with all of you.  This is the first time that I’ve participated in something like this and it sure is exciting!

The new patterns are:

Moneta

Mabel

Aren’t those awesome?  I haven’t sewn much with knits, so I’m certainly glad that these were “beginner” patterns.  And no, I didn’t butcher them too bad. 🙂

Here’s the blog tour schedule:

The Curvy Sewing Collective presents…. Curvy Colette: A Plus Size Blog Tour!

Wednesday 16 April:  Jenny at Cashmerette

Thursday 17 April:      Mary at Idle Fancy

Saturday 19 April:       Laurence at QuirkyPrettyCute

Monday 21 April:       Tanya at Mrs Hughes

Tuesday 22 April:       T at UandMii

Wednesday 30 April:  Mary at Young, Broke & Fabulous

I can’t wait to share mine with you on Monday!!!  And in the meantime check out all of the beautiful makes from these gorgeous ladies!!!  These patterns and The Colette Guide to Sewing Knits are on sale right now, so pick up your own set, pronto! 🙂

Happy sewing, friends!

Very excited to see your makes! I have a local store holding a Moneta for me and I’m curious to see how the curvy size block works on me — it sounds like it’s doing well on those who’ve tried it so far! It’s a great move that Colette has widened their size offering like this… I really hope it rolls out to the rest of their catalog, and that other indies follow suit!

I think you’ll really like it, Susan! Especially since you are used to sewing with knits. 🙂

Very cool! I’m so glad you guys got something like this together and I’ll be watching everyone’s posts. I just ordered the Moneta and I like seeing what people have done with it on a range of body types.

I love that Colette continues to be out in front of indie pattern companies! they have a lot of range and it’s exciting to watch them expand. I’m a newb with knits, but I think I would LOVE a few of those Mabel skirts in a nice thick ponte!
